Non sono classista, ci mancherebbe anche, leggendo qui ho scoperto che è appena partito il giro del Rwanda. E' una notizia che mi fa pensare, Rwanda..disordini sociali, eccidi, enormi problemi sociali, c'è chi si prende la briga di organizzare una gara in bicicletta..otto tappe, 1.069 km, 28 gran premi della montagna, 1.300 euro il premio finale per il vincitore. Il ministro dello sport: "La bicicletta fa parte della nostra storia, ogni bici in più è un'auto in meno". Sei maglie in palio: gialla del primo nella generale, a pois per la montagna, verde a punti, bianca per gli under 24, blu per il migliore ruandese, rossa per la combattività, ok hanno copiato i francesi...glielo si concede? Non tantissimo

La mia domanda è: ne avevano proprio bisogno? Speriamo di sì.

Ok, anche questa volta ce l'ho fatta, partenza alle 16.50 tutti belli intruppati, il culo ha voluto che ci ritrovassimo con gli stessi percorsi da fare (e meno male), percorso blu (ultimo check point scelto quasi alla fine di viale monza) il più lungo e forse il meno duro visto che ad aiutarci c'era ancora la luce del giorno. Lungo il percorso pavè, tanto pavè, e tanto traffico. Rientrati al parchetto di partenza, secondo manifest, giallo, un pelo più agevole ma con molto più pavè complice il buio il sottoscritto si è trovato a fare un paio di metri con la posteriore nelle rotaie del tram, poco divertente, conseguente perdita di pressione nella gomma, non proprio bello. All'altezza di largo Cairoli in curva, lenta, una voragine tra due lastre di marmo inghiotte la mia anteriore e quasi finisco contro due turisti stranieri...gianluca mi evita per un pelo..e si scusa con i malcapitati, grazie, l'educazione prima di tutto

Al rientro dal secondo percorso, la camera d'aria mi molla del tutto, complice il pavè, ovviamente, che la fa esplodere, di corsa con fixie in spalla fino al check point..ci mancava pure il ciclocross...grazie all'aiuto di tutti sostituisco la camera d'aria in un paio di min. e via verso la via fausto coppi..e poi finalmente il traguardo..sono le 20.20, 2 ore e mezza e 60 km di adrenalina e divertimento. Grazie a gianluca, benny (anche e soprattutto per la camera d'aria) e matteo con i quali abbiamo cercato di arrivare fino alla fine. 121 alla partenza all'arrivo se ne contavano solo 18.. Noi siamo arrivati dopo il 12esimo, non male..

The Day After

I made the 75 (80) km of the short trip. I never tougth to find so many people along the circuit of every age and nation, Austria, German, English, French, Spanish, ecc. Some Pro and former Pro on the 205 km, tv and press following.

My speed was a 80 years old man, of course, with all my respects to who of them has made the 205 km, but better than this for me was impossible to do.

At the staring point some little problems, like I forgot the paper for the check point... but after that the adventur started, white road (strade bianche), uphill where everybody went down from the bike to go on by foot, fantastic adn very breathless downhill ( 73km/h maximum speed), downhill on white roads where everybody hopes to don't flat.

Coming to the crossroads where to choose to do 38 or 75 km I stop to eat something and think to next steps, the legs where good. And the thinking to close the race of 38 km with a downhill didn't excite me very much. Beside to me a guy with the same my thinking and doubt, he's from Austria, after few second we decide to go on!

We speak a little and he told me he's from Austria and he arrive in Gaiele yesterday, riding from Bologna to Firenze, about 170 km..not bad. He told me that during the trip to Bologna he complete his bike but he didn't put the back brake on...look fun but it's not on that streets. At the check point he decide to ask to a mechanic to do this and finally.

Without his help I will never complete the race, and probably for his were the same. After more than 5 hours we finish the race, many cyclists were arrived and more have to come, everybody tired and happy, everybody are eroi! Thanks Maximillian.

Finally my Bianchi is ready for the tourist trip, yes I'm going to do the 75 km circuit, I have no condition to do more..no more posting till Monday, have a nice weekend!

Waiting for L’Eroica

We're training for l'Eroica e non competitive race, that took place every year in Chiantishire which is not in US but in Tuscany, Italy.

It's an exclusive race for old fashion road bike, made before the end of 80's and it's easy to see very old bike of 20's 30's.

The author will do the 70 km, fitted to his outfit condition..hoping that my Bianchi will be ready on time.
